Cavity – “Human Abjection” LP

Posted in Uncategorized by Mogo on August 2, 2009

covera few years after sludge-masters Eyehategod and Grief took the early 90s underground/extreme music scene by storm, these Floridians stepped up to the plate with what was, at the time, a fairly unique blend of the aforementioned sludge style with more “straight ahead” hardcore. it’s been done countless times since, but, everything good gets imitated sooner or later. this one always got bonus points with me for being on transparent-blue vinyl – possibly my favorite vinyl color ever. not that it’s of utmost importance or anything, but… yeah. anyway: THE MOOOOOOZIK

  1. Thanks for this; never even heard of this record.

this was the first and only release on miami’s “City of Sin” records which was Luis Barrera and Cavity founder/bassist Dan Gorostiaga. (Luis did the illustrations inside) This was/IS a great record that I would listen to over and over for months. Thanks for posting this! I have it on vinyl and thanks to you, on mp3 now!

Thanks for the post. Yes, this was Luis’ and I, first release on “City of Crime” Records. Only 500 copies were pressed, can’t remember how many on blue vinyl at the moment. Our second release was the repress of CAVITY’s first 7″ (which came out on 4 1/2 Records).
Again, thanks for spreading the word (and music) from this record.
    Take care,
    Dan

There were 200 copies on Blue and 300 copies on Black. This is one of my top 5 alltime favorites.
