“mission statement”
man i can be a windbag sometimes.
so, in a nutshell:
not trying to deprive anyone of their livelihood here. as far as i can tell almost everything posted here is out of print, or only available on the used market. in some cases things have been re-issued, but i’m usually posting older and less-superior versions to what might be currently available. i do research to the best of my (and the internet’s) ability to make sure of these factors before posting something.
that said, i do fuck up sometimes. so if you represent an artist or label whose material is here and would like the item in question removed, please comment in the post itself – or right here – and i will oblige as soon as i read it.
obviously my hope is that if people enjoy what they get here, they’re more likely to track down and purchase available material from the artists in question; or at least show some support by checking them out live, if possible.
aside from that, i’ve heard and had all the arguments there are about this sort of thing. you know how that old saying goes… something about opinions… assholes… everybody has one… eh, i forget now.

Hi,
In a couple of weeks, we’re going to be releasing the ZCR’s back catalog, to which we own all rights, so we’d appreciate it if you could remove the download links from “The Man Can’t Bust Our Music” and “94124″ from your blog as soon as you get a chance.
Sorry to ask you to do this…we like audio blogs, and we generally support the practice of making unreleased material available for download. But given your mission statement, we’re confident that you understand that there can be a downside to it for some artists, and you won’t take it personally.
Thanks!
Emily

Sorry…I should’ve said “out of print,” not “unreleased”….
