looking for the following:
searches for these items have proved fruitless so far, please let me know if you come across any of them or can share them with me:
anything by an older Japanese band called IMA (International Music Activities). google hasn’t given me much to work with so far – but with a term like that, it’s kinda hard to narrow down search results…
Unknown Deutschland Vol III – as you know I’ve posted the first two volumes of this comp. I’m not interested enough to hunt down a physical copy, but would still be pretty interested in hearing the third volume. I’ve had it queued up on Soulseek for what seems like decades, but the one person on there who has it is apparently never online, so… help?
Optical 8 – any releases besides “Bug” and the collab. they did with Melt Banana, Zeena Parkins and Elliot Sharp, which I already have.
101 Crustaceans – live CD (title?)… I’ve been told that aside from their 1990 album “Songs of Resignation” that there was also a very limited, and now very rare live CD of the band that was issued. it’s possible that the person who told me this was refering to the “Thirsty Ears” compilation, which features a track each by a number of bands (including the Crustaceans) performing at the Knitting Factory. but if there is a full CD of live material from the band, I would love to hear it. please let me know if you can help me hear or locate a copy!
that’s all for now, but I’m sure I’ll update this as I think of more.

I really like your blog and have been inspired to start one my own – it’s early days at the moment but within weeks the joy of musical exploration will be so inexplicitly varied and overwhelming that religions will form to delve through the amazing sonic wonders within.

wow what a treasurehouse – my brother gave me a list of bands I’d never heard of that he had been looking for for ever, and i found about 6 of them on here, plus Yayy – the Fugs! He will more likely have heard of the more worryingly named ones and be very very happy. I’m just glad to find Greasy Truckers again years after my record got knackered. cheers you’re a public history provider!
